Top 5 Interesting Luxury & NFT News in January: LuxFi’s Pick
One month into 2022, several luxury brands have already released, or have at least announced especially interesting projects involving NFTs. We believe that many more mind-blowing releases are yet to come, especially from major fashion houses as various key fashion weeks are approaching. Now, let’s take a look at the top 5 January NFT drops!
5. ASRV First NFT Collection
Sportswear brand ASRV released their first limited-edition NFT collection with 60 unique pieces. The NFTs came in the form of 3D renders modelled after the DSG-0551 Puffer Jacket from the brand’s latest Winter Collection. Each NFT has a different colour, print, and material. The collection sold out in less than 30 minutes!
With such success in hands, the brand is now looking forward to integrating more real-life products into the digital space. Not to mention that owning an NFT from the collection can bring cool perks in the future! Those perks may include discounts, gift cards, benefits at the upcoming retail store, as well as wearables in the Metaverse.
4. Lamborghini’s Space Key Unlocking Limited-Edition NFTs
In 2019, Lamborghini sent advanced carbon fibre composite material to the International Space Station. Once it landed back on Earth, the luxury car brand made it a part of Space Key and limited it to only 5 editions. Each key is linked to an exclusive NFT made by a soon-to-be-revealed artist. All Space Key owners can access the art piece linked to their key via a QR code on the backside of the key.
3. Adidas x Prada NFT Project
Adidas once again joined hands with Prada for a first-of-its-kind open-Metaverse and user-generated NFT project, named Adidas for Prada Re-Source, in collaboration with digital artist Zach Lieberman. The project features 3,000 NFTs inspired by the two brands’ recent collaboration, Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon.
2. Balmain x Barbie Collection Featuring NFTs
Balmain and Barbie kicked off the new year with a special, limited-edition collaborative unisex collection. The partnership marked the first-ever collaboration between the two brands, as well as Barbie’s first step into the digital art world.
The collection comes with over 50 pieces of ready-to-wear clothes and accessories and, as a cherry on top, three unique NFTs featuring Barbie and Ken avatars. Each NFT comes with an avatar styled in Balmain and is paired with a bespoke set of real-life Barbie-sized Balmain garments.
1. SUPERGUCCI from Gucci and Superplastic
Tomorrow Gucci and Superplastic are dropping the first part of their three-part SUPERGUCCI collection, a limited series of CryptoJanky NFTs and ceramic sculptures. The collection includes ten NFTs, co-created by Gucci’s head of design Alessandro Michele and Superplastic’s synthetic artists Janky and Guggimon. Each NFT is extremely limited and valuable as it comes with an exclusive 8-inch white ceramic sculpture, hand made by Gucci’s ceramicists in Italy.
The first part of the series, dropping on Feb 1, will be available on Superplastic’s website via Gucci Vault, the House’s online concept store. Don’t miss it!
