Bulgari’s Exclusive Watch NFTs
Bulgari has entered the metaverse and just launched an exclusive NFT-connected watch collection. The Octo Finissimo Ultra is reputedly now the thinnest watch in the world, with a thickness of only 1.8mm.
Limited to only ten editions and with a retail price of USD 444,000, the watch is also authenticated using NFT technology.
A unique QR code, built into the face of the Octo Finissimo Ultra, gives information on the watch’s history, concept, design and manufacturing process, offering insights into the novel ways Swiss and Italian watchmaking has pushed the boundaries of their products.
Bulgari’s workshops in the Vallée de Joux and Neuchâtel developed the watch over three years with support from Concepto in La Chaux-de-Fonds, all in Switzerland.
Bulgari is part of the LVMH luxury consortium and the Octo Finissimo Ultra was launched in partnership with AURA blockchain consortium. AURA focuses on battling counterfeiting in the luxury goods market and promoting sustainability. Bulgari developed two smart contracts, one using AURA’s private blockchain network, and the other publicly permissioned on Polygon.
Watch makers Breitling and Hublot have partnered with blockchain firms to enable product authenticity measures.
